You shouldn't worry about garbage collection, It is Browser's job. In this part this event will be triggered only once when new page came to DOM. And after it will be removed and then added again your #test element will be other DOM element, not those you attach event before, so everything will be fine here.
If you worry about your event listeners and you want to help Browser to remove them when elements removed from DOM, you may use additional 'pageBeforeRemove' callback where you can detach your event listeners from removed page
