That's weird. i confirm there is a problem with huge clipboard contents. (i'm opening a different issue, it may or may not be related), but i can't reproduce this. i copied Cervantes' "El quijote" (http://www.gutenberg.org/files/2000/2000-8.txt, 2.6 Mb) and then opened pastie, but compiz didn't crash. (i'm running compiz 1:0.8.4-0ubuntu15.1 and using libappindicator 0.0.19-0ubuntu5)
Can you tell me which compiz, libappindicator, python-appindicator and pastie version you are using? i think it can be a problem with the application indicator applet itself.

Same here..
Ubuntu 10.04(64bit), and other software versions are the same as yours. (Compiz, libappindicator, python-appindicator)
Pastie is 0.4-1ubuntu1.
When Pastie has many records as well as long enough ones, compiz hangs.
And by the way,
History is not working on 0.4-1. Only current clipboard content is remembered..
I think someone might post this problem, but no one did...
Hope you figure it out, Feliepe!

On the last thing, I guess it's that the preferences aren't properly installed in gconf (I couldn't check if that would happen on a clean install). If you press Control+Alt+P, you can check if the history size is set properly. By default, it should be 25, but you can adjust it up to 100.

Thanks.
I don't know why, but it was set wrong. History size was 1, Menu history entries length was 2.
I changed both, and it works fine.
I appreciate it.

You're welcome. I wonder if more people has had that issue.

I can't reproduce this issue. Maybe it was linked to other where pastie would use all screen, because of a problem in the trimming procedure.
I'm waiting for confirmation, Otherwise I'll close this.

No confirmation.
