You can probably compile it using CMake.
I don't know if aarch64 has the same backwards-compatibility to 32 bit ARM as Intel stuff has it, I'd guess no. This would mean that 32 bit ARM compilation doesn't help for aarch64.

Apparently,
The AArch32 mode is an optional part of the ARMv8 architecture. All of the current Cortex ARMv8 cores implement it, but it is possible that an ARMv8 core won't necessarily implement it.
Should the whole build process be ported to CMake then?
