Also, the amount of information possible for a task is increasing such that not all data for a task can be received if all tasks are to be included in a single call.
If one call is used for a subset, and another to get details on each task, race conditions may occur (like getting a list, and in the meantime one task has been replaced with another - unlikely if the PCBUF semaphore is held, but not so unlikely on MMU-type systems)

Potentially the best (and most simple to implement) extension is to split the list in two halves with full information on each task that is contained. As task IDs have a fixed place in the list, they cannot move, no race condition occurs.
