Interesting as to how this would be done since OpModes are classes with annotations rather than Objects (which Commands are). Couldn't an FTC team just stick an ActionGroup#run(RealClock.CLOCK) right after waitForStart() in a linear opmode?

Yeah, you're right. We could probably do a bunch of sketchy stuff to make registering them similar to FTC, but it just isn't worth it. We should still test to see if it plays well with FTC, though. I'll make that another issue.
