This is an email client for Unix-based systems with a graphical user interface. It was developed by colleagues and me in the 1990s. We open sourced it in the early 2000s by putting it on SourceForge. I copied it here for posterity. It is an interesting example of an X-Window application that was developed in the early days of the Internet, when email was a relatively new thing.

vp-alert-server

A service for broadcasting time-based alerts to users in the VP Chat system. The alerts are stored in a SQL database. Users can receive the alerts as instant messages (IMs) or if they are not online they can receive an email or text message.

vp-loadtest

A simple client for the VP chat server that exercises basic functions (sign in, navigate to a room, set an avatar, move around in the room, speak to the room, send an instant message). It can be set up to loop over a random set of these operations. Launching multiple clients can be used to load test the server.
