The following markup parsed with the Maruku dialect produces a page anchor:

# Heading
{:#foo}

A [link to foo](#foo)

Is that what you're after?

FYI: I'm using it in a browser. I was not specifying a dialect, as my pages are already written and work with Gruber. I have tried specifying the dialect like this - is this correct?

var html = markdown.toHTML(txt, "Maruku");

{:#foo} just literally displays on the page as written... it is not replaced.

If there's documentation I'm missing somewhere I'm happy to read it and not bother anyone. I just couldn't find anything beyond the readme and reading the code.

Thanks!

That's the right way to specify a dialect. It produces the right markup for me using the barebones example from the readme in Safari 6.

Could you provide an example of markup which is failing for you, and also which browser it's failing in?

To answer your other question, there's no documentation beyond the readme and the code.

Thanks for your help. I was able to get a simple example working in Safari. It was not working in Chrome. However, as usual I think Chrome is holding on to it's cache waaaaaay to tightly, as clearing my cache set me straight.

Thanks!
