@cooney I'm not sure that I exactly understand what you need "stored".
Do you mean that you could query the chart for it's data?

@ajturner I was thinking that having access to the query response that vega uses to render the chart could be useful. If we were doing the top 10 carbon emission countries with a bar chart, we might also want to highlight those countries on a map with a graphics layer, or zoom to the extent of the top emitting country. So instead of potentially making an additional (and identical) request for this info, we could utilize the one already made to populate the chart.
