Oh I see. It should be modified to use the new commands then. All it does is basically searching for an IP address on all available interfaces if not a specific interface was given. Please give it a try to mod it. I'm all out of time at the moment :)

No worries, I'll have a pop. Do you think the approach in that script could be simplified? Ie, simply look for NICs by name, displaying the first that has an IP:
eth0
eth1
..
en0
en1
..
wlan0
wlan1
..

We can't assume that a system has an interface named eth0 or wlan0, more bullet proof to get the names dynamically. But if the static name approach makes in much better go for it, simple is also good.
