I'm having exactly the same issue. Is there a fix for this problem?

I believe this was fixed in a newer release, @flux627 can you confirm?

@jeffreyssmith2nd this is still an issue for me in version 2.0.0. It keeps seeking the same block again and again and it never detectes the fork.
Given the reader has no access to the state I don't see how could it detect the fork anyway.

Forks are detected by comparing the fetched block's previous block hashes with the previous block's hash. If they don't match, we know we processed a block that was on a fork.
There were some changes that I thought should have fixed this in 2.0.0, but we still need to nail down what the failure conditions are in order to properly address the issue. I'll be working with @leordev on this.
