- Student Account Creation
Input a list of student names to generate accounts. Students don’t need usernames, they simple use the class-code as their username for signing in. Furthermore, all of the students are given a simple password for getting started, and they then can change it. The unique factor is just the class code, rather than having a unique username, class-code, and password. With this system, any student can log into any account - there is no verification outside of selecting the right account. Once a user claims the account, they can change the password though. If we picked up this system, we would need to move to random class codes rather than animal names (or perhaps four word names) because there would not be enough randomness to prevent easy attacks. - Rostering as Final Choice - Google vs. Roster
- There is a clear option to use either google classroom or roster - you give the choice at the right moment - when assigning the first activity. We might want to redo the class room invite page to make it a choice that a teacher then commits to and keeps things simple.
- Pinning Activities
Teachers can “collect” activities they like through “my list.” You can imagine a teacher going through Quill and “pinning” all of the activities they want to use. They can then go through this list and assign activities to students. Rather than going through the activity planner multiple times to re-assigning activities, they can browse at their leisure anytime and permanently save the activities they want to use as a later date by accumulating all of the exercises into a binder. A teacher can, for example, pin exercises from the activity planner into a binder for future use.
