FYI for anyone concerned I've adopted this library https://github.com/stevewhitmore/mmm-toast. I've tried contacting this repo maintainer several times but have not gotten an answer.
It's currently still in beta status since I haven't had a chance to confirm that the existing issues in this project have been addressed there and it hasn't been tested much yet but it is at least ahead of this project in terms of Angular 9 and 10 support.
