This is an interesting case. What would you want to happen on non-linux targets? Would all of the functions in the procfs crate return some error if called? I'm not really opposed to this in theory, but in practice it seems like a lot of functions to stub out.

Yeah that's a good question. I looked over the code on friday a little bit and I think getting it to work on macos would require a lot of conditional compile statements. Since macos doesn't have procfs it seems kinda silly doesn't it? I think the better thing to do would be include some conditional compilation on my side as the user of the library and include it if linux is the target. :)
