Problem with ember.variant in configuration files about ember-rails HOT 5 CLOSED

Problem was that the ember-rails gem was on the assets group of the Gemfile.

Shouldn't it be in the :assets group? Does it need to be around at runtime?

I'm using Rails 4 and I'm having this problem right now. Anyone found the solution?

I recently came across the same error on a new environment. For some reason the Railtie in ember_rails.rb was never reached. When I traced all the require calls, it was crashing out around require 'execjs' called from the Barber gem. I then realised that I hadn't installed Node.js on that machine. It seems like the error from ExecJS caused the process to exit, but Rails still continued to load.
