This feature is still in "TODO" unfortunately.
The main show stopper is that I need some global configuration parameters set, and I don't know how to do that from JRuby. So, no luck...

could you please explain your exact problem, maybe I've the time to investigate and help you solving this issue.
Do you want to set some Jenkins configuration variable out of the jruby process, or do you want make your plugin to be globally/per Project configurable?
from jenkins-gitlab-hook-plugin.
I need to make the plugin to be globally/per project configurable, yes.
Per project is doable, but for global (which would be more natural for this use case) I could not find a solution. So, if you can find a way for JRuby Jenkins plugins to have global configuration, that would pretty much solve the problem.

would be using "Manage Jenkins > Configure System > Global Properties" an Option like it is solved here???

Ok, I've investigate, found a solution and than discovered the feature/automatic_project_per_branch
branch.... so you fixed it allready on your own or what is your exact problem?
from jenkins-gitlab-hook-plugin.
Yes, that branch was an initial solution to the problem.
The missing part was the inability to add a global configuration for the plugin.
E.g. the procedure for automatic branch creation needs to know of a Jenkins job that will serve as template.
But, maybe this can be resolved with just a global environment parameter like on Yammer example you sent.
I am not really available at this time for this task.
Would you be willing to contribute?
from jenkins-gitlab-hook-plugin.
Yes I would like to. But I can't actually see, what is not working. When I check your branch out and run jenkins, I can see the global configure option: http://imagebin.ca/v/1NIUT0Rz0Kwf
So what are the detailed steps, I have to do, to make this feature running?
from jenkins-gitlab-hook-plugin.
Well, the issue is that I couldn't find a way to display configuration options on Jenkins main page, and have those options be accessible from the plugin itself.
I guess what I need is a solution for a(ny) JRuby Jenkins plugin to:
- have a global configuration page
- use the configured values within the plugin
If you can find a way to to that, I'll use it to complete this feature.

but you allready achieved a way to show global config options on the jenkins configuration page.
So if i'll show you a way how to use these option at the Branch creation process, you are ready to go?

sorry to say, but I've left my old company and so no motivation anymore to push this feature... sorry
