  1. Aalborg theme shows the search form only to logged in users
  2. This was fixed in community_theme by adding a separate form that's visible to non-logged-in users
  3. Now logged-in users see both of these forms

What is the reason that Aalborg theme displays the search only to logged in users? https://github.com/Elgg/Elgg/blob/1.9/mod/aalborg_theme/start.php#L35

I do not remember why, but I do not think it's due to depth reflection. Aalborg theme was not developed to the community site.

In other words, let's fix this in Aalborg and revert the community
workarounds?

Yes, let's do it. But when I look at it, I probably removed the search form because it looks a little weird right above the login form :)
