Server crashes if invalid API request comes hin about lightning-charge HOT 3 CLOSED

It looks like the error (listen EACCES 0.0.0.0:25) is caused by insufficient permissions when trying to listen on port 25, not when a request comes in.

Note that on Linux systems, only the root user can listen to ports lower than 1024. But running charged as the root user is not a good idea. I would suggest running charged on its regular port and setting-up something else to forward connections from port 25 to charged (say, an nginx reverse proxy).

You could also try setting up port forwarding with iptables, using something like sudo iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 25 -j REDIRECT --to-ports 9112.

Also, if you have a router sitting between the charged machine and the internet, you can setup the forwarding there.

oh that port forwarding thing is a great idea and yeah EACCESS makes a lot of sense. I wonder though why the error only happens when actually traffic comes in and not at the moment the node.js server starts (don't need an answer though) will give feedback later
