login screen: You can choose to enable/disable Cam/Mic
Mic Test would be helpful.

@mesutde we can certainly add a volume bar to the join dialog preview, good idea 👍

It would be better to test for sound like this
microphone test bar would be very useful

Thanks. But that solves not my problem. If i use the webpage i get the message to activate micro and cam even if I don't need micro and/or cam.

login

That is not the fact with the old version.

login2

There is the browser question only if i really use micro and/or cam in the login menu.

@devnull4242 sorry to say, you are in the minority of users. The majority of users want to share audio and/or video, and making that happen upon coming to the join dialog provides a more streamlined experience. If we were to go back to the old flow, the majority of users would be forced to have more interactions with the join dialog.

That's really not so nice. In its current form, eduMEET is not only a video/audio conference, but also a pure audio conference solution without having to ask unnecessarily about the features for video. And if you are on the phone (e.g. via smartphone), it is even a pure image transmission solution. Unfortunately, this is no longer possible with the new version..

@devnull4242 the old behavior is now configurable in the client by setting the current config flag:
askForMediaOnJoin: false

Thanks for the customization. Unfortunately, the providers of the service are unlikely to activate this option as it is not standard.

If you would just enable camera and microphone by default like in the picture below, the behavior for the users who want to use camera and microphone would not change at all. Conversely, users like me could easily join the conference without checking the camera by changing the option to microphone.
