Hello @EcBen!
Sorry for the late reply. Regarding the addition of this functionality, yes, we plan to add an Auther API that would allow receiving notifications about token expiration and enable token replacement. However, unfortunately, there are currently several higher priority tasks. Nevertheless, we would like to offer you a workaround.
Yes, they will survive, but only in the case of auto-connect when the connection is lost. Once we add functionality to change the token, there will be no need to subscribe to the symbols again.
I apologize for the mistake in that statement when I replied to you at #47 (comment). This will only happen if you call the Close
method on the endpoint. If you call Connect
with a new address for the same DxEndpoint
instance (or Disconnect
and then Connect
, never mind), all existing subscriptions will continue to work correctly. A re-subscription will occur under the hood, and you will continue to receive data.
We have prepared a sample that demonstrates this behavior.
About the workaround:
You can start a timer that triggers before your token expires. In the callback for that timer, fetch a new token and call Connect
with the same address but a new token.

@stdcion Thanks! I'll give that a try.
Please follow up on this issue when you do add support for the Auther API.
