I think that you need:

if ($obj->image1){
                $file = $obj->image1;
                return name;
            }
            else {
                $file = $obj->image2;
                $extension = $file->guessExtension();
                return $username.'-'.uniqid('', true).'.'.$extension;  
}

This code is in your own service. ( class VichServicio implements NamerInterface )
