Yes. I could do that as a workaround but it would be more convenient if it just worked. Maybe this requires a fix in duckdb itself?

My use case is that I have developed an R package (not currently released) similar to my sqldf R package but specifically for duckdb. It is possible to issue a series of calls to it but it's more convenient for the user to issue a single call with multiple statements in many cases. Of course they can just use string manipulation to insert parameters but since the package supports prepared statements it would have been nice if it just worked.

Apparently duckdb 1.0 was just released. Once the duckdb R package includes it I will try it again in case this is a duckdb problem which has been addressed.
