First of all I recommend you to use FormRequest instead of validation in controller https://laravel.com/docs/10.x/validation#creating-form-requests

There is a standard way to customize validation messages in Laravel https://laravel.com/docs/10.x/validation#customizing-the-error-messages

And also you can change error message for YandexCaptcha custom rule like this

public function messages()
    {
        return [
            'smart-token.required' => 'Your required message',
            YandexCaptcha::class => 'Message from rule (server validation error)',
        ];
    }
