Update:

The forced log out doesn't happen anymore (I think some system update fixed it). However, the app is still very unresponsive (it makes my system go like 1 FPS per second).

I even got a notification from KDE about KWin (the compositor) being restarted due to a graphics reset after opening the Ubisoft Connect launcher and waiting 10 seconds or so. I can close the launcher normally, but the system is very unresponsive during this time.

Running the program with DXVK_CONFIG="dxvk.maxChunkSize = 1" flatpak run --command=protontricks-launch com.github.Matoking.protontricks --appid 243470 "/mnt/HDD/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/243470/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/UbisoftConnect.exe" results in the following:

However, running the same command a 2nd and a 3rd time makes the launcher open normally.
But the unresponsiveness persists.

@doitsujin Is there any option I can try to see if somehow I can mitigate the problem?

Not sure if I can get a log or an API trace for this one because it's not directly related to the game, but to the launcher. I have seen complaints of low performance of Ubisoft Connect on Ubisoft Reddit coming from Windows users.

I don't know what the problem is, I've never seen anything like this and can't reproduce it. Have you tried running uplay without dxvk?

Hi there. I have found the solution.

It seems the problem is about Chromium and GPU acceleration with OpenGL ES.

Setting the following as environment variable to open Ubisoft Connect fixes the unresponsiveness issue:

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="libglesv2.dll=d"

Thank you for trying to help. Closing as solved.
