repo->moveUp($node, 3) would shift the node up by 3 positions. So generally when you implement the sorting for tree. It is more user friendly to show sorting by steps up or down. In your way user would need to count the nodes, on parent, what if there are hundreds of them? I do not see the point of doing that, if you do and if I do not understand it. Then you can easily add this function into your extended repository and simple count the childrens, and current node position, and then moveUp or moveDown the node for needed number of steps.
