This is due to the way DocFX processes resources. Currently the docfx.json file is set to look for resources in /images/**/*. It will then copy those to the destination site at /images/. So the markdown file would need to reference the image as: /images/image_name.png rather than /img/image_name.png and all images will need to be moved to /images/ in the project root.
We can change docfx.json to look for resources elsewhere. It may be possible (I have not verified this) to copy the image and its original path to that /images/ folder to maintain the ability to prevent duplicate filename clashes. However, the image link in the MD files still would need to be modified.
I have modified the project to make the image in the following page work:
http://localhost:8080/content/developers/about-evs/090200/
The image is referenced like:

With all the recent updates there shouldn't be any more invalid file link warnings. If you see any, please let me know and I can fix.
