The testing could be splitted into:

  1. test the new UI with CRAB standalone CRAB_2_0_4 and CRAB_2_1_0_pre4 (afanfani)

  2. test the new UI with CRABSERVER_0_0_3 (vmiccio)

Update on test 1)

I've tested the new UI
source /afs/cern.ch/project/gd/LCG-share/newest/etc/profile.d/grid-env.sh
with CRAB_2_0_4 testing the commands:

create,submit,status,getoutput,kill,resubmit,testJdl,printId,postMortem

with the schedulers: edg,glite,glitecoll
No major surprise arose. I don't expect differences when using CRAB_2_1_0_pre4 however I'll try that later.

Update on test 1) CRAB SA
I confirm that also CRAB_2_1_0_pre5 works fine for schedulers edg, glite, glitecoll and the new UI /afs/cern.ch/project/gd/LCG-share/newest/etc/profile.d/grid-env.sh

Testing the new UI on CRABSERVER_0_0_3_pre4 shows that this UI is not usable within a SLC3 server, due, for example, to errors like ().
Even if deprecated and not supported, the SLC3 UI is still source-able by Andrea's script (
*), so I will try a test with a the new UI on the client and the SLC3 UI on the server to see if everything goes fine anyway (what matters is to reach a WN slc4 from a UI slc4; chances are that passing through a slc3 server could not make too much difference...).
As soon as a SLC4 crabserver will be availabe for testing, the full SLC4 test will be done, since the SLC3 could not be available for a long time.
