Hi @d2kagw,
would you be able to elaborate this issue a bit more?
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
David

Hey @djoos,
In NewRelic you can send notifications for new deployments (and it will measure performance changes for each new release).
It's fairly simple to operate, and we've put together a very basic implementation (read: Hack) on our end, but it'd be sweet for the cookbook to take control of this.

Hi @d2kagw,
sounds like a great new feature - definitely something we need to get into the cookbook.
It might be useful to share the hack via a gist, what do you think?
Kind regards,

Hi @d2kagw,
"The PHP and .NET agents do not currently support a mechanism to record deployments, but the Java agent can be used to record deployments for PHP and .NET applications."
Would you be able to shed some more light on what hack you put in place?
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
David

Hi all,
Sorry for the delayed response.
According to the NewRelic docs you can throw a cURL request to their API to register a deployment.
More on that here: https://newrelic.com/docs/site/deployments
We've implemented the cURL request manually at the moment, but ideally the cookbook would have a provider to do this for us.
So whenever we make a change to the app server (or things like the database configs, etc) it's registered in NewRelic.

Thanks again for the suggestion - let me know how it goes!
