What do you mean by "the client_secret is no longer available in the google api console" ?
I have just checked my own console and I do see the client_secret.
Has this gem ever worked for you before or is it something new that you are experiencing?

Sorry my post seems to be to soon.. after searching for an hour I found out how to get the client_secret
There where some blogposts stating the client_secret has been removed by google on certain conditions. None of which seem relevant.
I have it fixed now I think. Only the certificate you refer to in your examples is it required?
Thanks for this great Gem! Tried out several solutions before and they all sucked.

Yes it is relevant because otherwise the communication with the Google Server will go over plain HTTP.
