Levels are random, what fountain?
What equipment do you have (maybe provide save)?

What was your hero state (especially mana) prior to this?
What is "normally"?

I see -2 mana in the description, and then -1 mana in the screenshot. Did you click the fountain only once?
Fountains in D1 do not work the same way as wells do in D2. They do not refill your entire pool in a single click.
