Try disableRowExpand. See docs.

I tried to use disableRowExpand for disabling my leaf node expansion, but it's in vain. I can still expand that row.

@choprarik disableRowExpand works only for rendered records. So you may need to wait for few milliseconds after you inserted children. Try setTimeout for now. I will see if I can create a callback later.

I added a new property to mark a child as leaf. Please check this Example out. Use latest version. I hope it helps.
