Is it appropriate to ask questions in an issue? about pluc HOT 6 CLOSED

This has always done the trick for me:

sudo chown -R $(whoami) $(npm config get prefix)/{lib/node_modules,bin,share}

Taken from npm's permissions page which is an easy google search away. Next time there's no need to ask if you can ask a question, just ask the question. This rings true in most places in life. Thanks! 🎉

I do! I’d like to install Pluc on my machine but I can’t do it with npm install -g because of

npm ERR! Error: EACCES: permission denied, access '/usr/local/lib/node_modules'

What is the best way to install Pluc (or any cli module for that matter) without admin/access to /usr/local/lib/node_modules?

@dawsbot The reason I asked was because I was wondering if Github Issues specifically we're a place to ask questions since the obvious purpose is issues not questions 😄

Speaking of which, I was thinking about making a browser extension that added comments to Github repos and allowed you to DM users :) I suppose Gitter solves the problem (sort of)

@Hum4n01d That could be interesting, messaging a github user is a pain point for sure. Although many GitHub users like issues for this purpose. I certainly don't mind.

GitHub users are often tied strongly to Twitter. For that use case there is already a chrome extension
