@pradh , the ACS is a community survey done a sample of individuals in a geographic area every year. The census counts each individual in a geographic area every 10 years. So, if the datasets are based on recorded information in the census, the provenance can be census.gov, if the data is more about how the quality of life of individuals like living costs, education, etc. ACS is a better source. The ACS website has the following comparison between ACS and the census
