If you want to get the entire subtree (recursive) of an EPG, you can do the following:
epg = apic.mit.polUni().fvTenant(tenantName).fvAp(apName).fvAEPg(epgName)
epg.GET(**options.subtree)
print(epg.Xml)
If you want to get only first level children of an EPG, please do the following:
epg = apic.mit.polUni().fvTenant(tenantName).fvAp(apName).fvAEPg(epgName)
epg.GET()
epg.ReadOnlyTree = False
epg.GET(**options.children)
print(epg.Xml)
The reason you need to set ReadOnlyTree
option is as follows:
Once a GET()
is issued on an object, the entire local tree that contains the object is marked read-only internally. This is to avoid common sources of bugs that we have seen in automation scripts. If you want to amend further information through additional GET()
s, the tree can be made read-write by setting the ReadOnlyTree
to False
.

Wonderful. That is pretty helpful.
