There's a design question here I didn't think through properly. Previously .25, .5 and .75 had special semantic significance, and were at least easy to remember. By just moving the dividing lines, it will have changed the semantics of previous diagrams.
Could we adjust the behaviour so that the x position on the diagram is piece-wise linear 0 - 0.25, 0.25 - 0.50, 0.50 - 0.75 and 0.75 - 1.0? It would be back compatible, allow future refinements to rendered x position, and keep the memorable semantics of .25, .5 and .75 when creating map code by hand.
