I also attempted to utilize max_partitions_per_run to segment the backfill into 365-day runs. However, this exacerbated the situation. Storing asset materializations in parallel appears to result in write conflicts, which I can comprehend to some extent. Is there not an option to bulk-write events to the event storage? That would greatly alleviate the issue.

I managed to resolve this issue. The PostgreSQL Cloud SQL instance I was using was severely under-scaled, especially since I was using a shared CPU instance, which appears to perform poorly with numerous write operations per time unit. Nevertheless, I believe implementing an option to write events in bulk would be advantageous.
