This would be easier with a bit of extra API support.
The call to photos.xml returns things like proximity, bearing, and so on, so long as the minimalData parameter is 0. A subsequent call to photo.xml duplicates a little of that information, and also gives the licensing information.
The API guidance rightly states we should set minimalData=1 for mobile devices, because it does cut the volume of data quick significantly and, most of the time, we don't need it anyway. It would be helpful if the information in photos.xml was all replicated in photo.xml.

The replacement V2 API, photomap.locations provides now much more metadata, so this should be fixable now:

In particular, see the list of fields available:
http://www.cyclestreets.net/api/v2/photomap.locations/#fields
Personally though I would limit this to a relatively small amount of info - I don't think detail like proximity and bearing should be shown in a mobile app.

@mvl22 if you'd like to clarify how you envisage the copyright being shown, I can look at this. Or if you prefer I can just come up with something.

This is done in the new design, so it can wait till then.
Though, the same principle could be applied to the old design in the 3.7 release, as it will need coding up anyway, and the design will then just give a different-coloured box.

Basically it's just a flip screen of the box - the other side shows the details:
