Define master document about setzer HOT 4 CLOSED

Can you elaborate a bit on what the master document function does exactly? From what I understand it causes the master document to build no matter which document is currently being edited. The .pdf preview should then probably also display the master document at all times. Is there something else to it?

For those of us that write large LaTeX documents, having a master document with includes in it to enable us to break a document out is vital.
