I think you got redirected to a broken mirror. Is this a reproducible issue?

Hi Leo,

I think its reproducible. I tried it on an other server and there was the same problem.

You can try it yourself.

If you need an FTP access, just send me an message.

I've tried it again, still the same problem. So it's definitly reproducible.

Which installation method was used? Command line or PHP internal functions?

Is wget available on your server?

yes. All requirements for Contao-Check are fulfilled.

Strange. I tried it myself and I could reproduce the issue. Then, after lunch, I was trying again and could no longer reproduce it. Also, the sourceforge.net staff says that the URL we are using can be used with wget. See

http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/sourceforge/ticket/10316

I'm a bit unsure what to do now.

After our conversion, i set up an new virtual server with parallels 7 and I installed an fresh Debian 6.0 squeeze environment. I've installed all requirements for the new Contao Check.

Afterwards i had the same issue as you had. I tried to install Contao via the Contao Check (Command-Line) and it worked. After 1 hour i tried it again and the installation failed. Very strange.

Maybe it's possible to check the content of the file before the unzip routine starts?

As long as we don't know the reason, I'd vote for removing wget entirely.

avatar commented on June 2, 2024

Hmm. This would also be a solution i'd vote for.
After some research I've found an blog article you should read. They're describing our problem caused by different wget versions.

Indeed, it does work with the -O option on my system:

wget -O download http://sourceforge.net/projects/contao/files/2.11/contao-2.11.5.zip/download

Can you please check on your system, too?

I have tested it with different configurations. Now it works for me too.

There is another problem I've found. I set up a new website with suPHP. The command line doesn't work because of 'whois wget' returns 'NULL'. Maybe the server doesn't allow wget if the user is running under suPHP?

Also I've tried the installation via PHP. It also doesn't work for me. The problem is the same as it was with the command line. The content of the download file http://pastebin.com/ZaEnLVBX

So there is nothing to unzip for the PHP ZipArchive. I still think the problem comes from sourceforge, which is returning the wrong content after fetching the provided url.

BTW: I'm sorry about closing and reopening this thread twice, I've used the wrong button.

Fixed in e4ccab0. Could not reproduce the issue with the PHP installer.
