Guice is fine but IMHO, if your current implementation works and you don't need extra features provided by Guice then I think it's really better to minimize third party dependencies.

I was going to treat this as a plugin similar to how I allow you to choose a connector. This way you could pass OS4J an injector and we can bind the various APIs and features. This way in your application code OS4J services could be injectable, etc.
