p + geom_signif(comparisons = list(c('group 1', 'group 2')), y_position = 11, color='black')

Explicitly setting a color value also works as a workaround.

I see the exact same behavior. The work around you posted, solved the problem for me too.

There must be a bug in how geom_signif handles color versus fill. I also received the error when trying to color boxplots, but filling them works without error.
