This is not by design. Conda-forge and the greater conda community have grown organically, and the list here represents people who have been active long enough to feel responsible/obligated to act for the community.

This is to say that you should not read the current state of pronouns as the way that any of us wants it to be. If you or anyone else would like to help us be a more diverse group, I hope you will consider joining us. The steering council here has a minimum size but not a maximum size. I'd be happy to help nominate you or anyone who has shown activity in the conda/conda-forge ecosystem and who has an interest in helping improve the ecosystem.

BTW, thanks for the transparency in listing pronouns; part of the point is that people who are tangentially involved can question the overarching efforts organizations we decide to dedicate time to helping. Of course, this is sad and I hope you have plans to improve diversity. Thanks!

Oops, I thought this was part of conda-forge. I have no business with and no interest in conda-incubator or anaconda, so I am closing this.

Thanks. Yes, I understand the distinction between intention and reality. And by "checking them out" in

Any serious plans to add non-"he/him" to this list? If so, I am interested in checking them out.

I didn't mean to indicate interest in joining myself. I don't think I would personally be a good fit for this and I don't think I would help resolving the diversity issues.

I can help in auditing plans and providing feedback if there are any active measures to improve diversity.

Having said that, the line between intention (design) and reality (de facto) is often murky. Diversity problems we face (assuming you and are based in USA) are often results of time --- entropy, if you will. Yet, it is precisely our inaction in the face of time itself that we propagate these problems and end in abject diversity. So I encourage you (collective) to pursue the issue seriously and make it an objective to improve diversity (including gender diversity).

Anyway, the new governance stuff is promising!
