mtgjson has a names field

names [ "Research", "Development" ] Only used for split, flip and dual cards. Will contain all the names on this card, front or back.

So this would be a two-part update. The easy part is getting the information into cards.xml (though at this point I wonder if we shouldn't just kill cards.xml and use the json directly)

Part 2 would be coming up with a UI for "related cards" - not sure of the best way to present this

dual cards have an a/b suffix in their card number: fire // ice, card numbers 32a, 32b

for the ui, i'd suggest adding another context menu item - transform

I'm imaging more a "Related cards > Create Token for (flipped name)" type thing

transform cards are the only type needing this ui change, so unless you're concerned about keeping this generic / extensible, i don't see the benefit to your idea

Flip cards too.

ok, so 'show related card'. i don't see the benefit of putting this into a submenu, or creating a token. the flip / transform mechanics do not create tokens

I'd like to return to this issue possibly.

I feel that if a card is known by Oracle/Database that it's a double-sided card, an additional option should be shown on the menu in client.

Potentially after "Flip" it could say "Transform" and it will create the appropriate card to replace it either like this:

...or just replacing the physical object for a new one.

There's not much to discuss here, the specific ui is just a minor detail / bikeshedding. I imagine a PR would be welcome.

I think we can just tie this into making tokens for related cards
