I know we've had our squabbles about this in the past, but I'm OK with said change. Not sure how to enforce this for "stable releases", however.

Can I close this issue? I believe we are in agreement that when we do our first stable release, we will exclude the version number from the title bar. Until then, all builds are developer and/or unofficial builds, so I see now reason for it to change. So sounds like this is resolved.

I'd prefer this to stay open so that we have some overview of things that we'd like to have finished for a polished first release.
