Just use the ones that came with the original 351P image and download others you want manually, or rename what has a weird file name?
Not a ArkOS Issue.
Besides, ArkOS has not much to do with wat runs with Retroarch and its cores and what not.

Be aware that some important information is available in this wiki link as well.

At a guess you are on OSX maybe. "." files are created to contain additional file info use by OSX i think. You normally don't see them navigating folders etc on osx as they are hidden. They are visible on windows. They get picked up by emulation station systems as they probably have a valid file extension. They however don't contain any data that can be loaded hence an emulator will just return back to the main screen. They can be removed using a unix terminal command. Best thing to do is grab the OSX APP "USBclean" from the App Store and drag removable drive to it to eject them. This removes these an other OSX specific files which become viewable on other systems. You probably have the actual ROM file though. If you have many ROMS for a system they will appear after all the "." files.

Good to know. I’ll add this information as a faq entry.

I just wanted to follow up on this issue. Solidox was totally correct. I put my EASYROMS drive through USBclean and it totally fixed the problem.
