@dstelljes, this functionality would be useful for the documents team. Is this still on track for the 8.0.0 milestone? Until this gets in, we'll be running dotnet avro and then hand-editing the output any time we need to update our schema.

Yeah, it will be included in 8.0.0; we’re hoping to finally get it out the door early Q4.

Hi,

I implemented schema support for Nullable Reference Types for fields in records in a project and I wanted to share my code. You can see it here:

Keep in mind that this implementation is not complete. It's missing:

  • Nullable types in array
  • Top level record is not being checked (only its fields).

Thanks for sharing! As I understand it, checking the top-level record isn’t actually possible; .BuildSchema<Record>() and .BuildSchema<Record?> are indistinguishable.
