User names on nodes about cgru HOT 9 CLOSED

On daemon start, it reads /opt/cgru/afanasy/nonrootuser file for a username to switch from root to.
( if there is no such file, it creates one with "render" username )

"Warning, you don't exist" - means that afserver knows nothing about a username afwatch was started under.
You can submit any job to register a new user - and it is the simplest and best way.
Or you can use afcmd to create users.
And it does not correlate with the user that afrender was started under.

Oh I see, is that the same in aftalk though?
We tested it out here and it registered as one user only, i.e. only one person visible in the chat window.

Ah, i see.
You can use AF_USERNAME environment variable to override login name, it is made exactly to have clients launched under the same system user to have different names in afanasy system.
You can setup it, for example, by placing setup_user.sh in cgru/afanasy folder. It sources all setup_*.sh files.
And you can customize afrender client username simle in afwatch with admin rights. But this will not affect afrender and its tasks processes user.

How do I customize for admin rights in afwatch? Right clicking on a user only brings up a "show log" message..

Disregard that, it's a clean database and I'm the only user, running as afadmin... and I figure right clicking on yourself when afadmin wont really bring up any other menu instances?

It is only GUI "state", there is no administrator and any permissions in afserver, just gui can show and hide some "super user" options.
To switch in, just type "iddqd" having afwatch dialog focused. It is a default password for "GOD", passwords can be customized in config.xml and md5 can be generated by afcmd.
