I think seaweedchan could be given collaborator privileges on your fork, that way he can commit changes directly.

There's not much point in that privilege at the moment because you still need the private key to package a new release of the Chromium version. And I'd rather not give that to collaborators directly because then I don't have a way to revoke it. Maybe at some point I'll set up a bot to handle signing the Chromium packages, and then it would be useful to give collaborators commit privileges.
