It's mostly the size of the threads causing firefox to hang. Firefox is getting better and faster at rendering individual pages, but it's still way behind Chrome when it comes to working with multiple pages (or plugins) at the same time. These huge, 1500+ post threads are pushing the browser to its limits with repaints every thread update, and you're trying to play video.
Or, if you're using Chrome, I have no clue. HTML Video is still kinda a new technology.

This is likely exasperated by #18 which should be improved in 1.5.2.
Edit: Disregard, just checked and I'm definitely seeing it even after the memory problem fix.

I see it in the shorter /jp/ thread as well. Of course, this is likely browser and machine dependent, and others may not have a problem. I guess I'll have to look into making the updater more efficient.
