Somehow,

require '~/.twitter_auth.rb'

works fine to run an external ruby script and return the values it generates (containing the (now required) API keys for twitter in twitter_feed.rb), but does not work when Jekyll runs the plugin. For the moment, I've had to add the keys directly to the twitter_feed.rb file, which means I must exclude it from the Github repository.

So files are now separate and twitter_feed plugin is fixed for the new auth reqs, but not shared here :-(
