Sorry rofi cannot understand the key combination: !Return about rofi-pass HOT 4 CLOSED

All default hotkeys use Alt modifier. Alt behavior has not changed in rofi at all.
In fact I just tried rofi-pass from master without any config and it works just fine.

Anyway. The only way to see what is really happening is the output of bash -x /path/to/rofi-pass and reproduce the error.

Oh, I'm sorry, I totally forgot to mention details in a hurry. I edited the title, so it reflects actual error.
!Return sequence is used only at current master in rofi-pass bash script, not in previous releases.

Rofi version = 1.0.1

In addition it prints out "Password store" in console before it exits.

well, yes. this needs the git version of rofi. This option is needed because of this bug

Once this lands in stable rofi, I will make another release.
